National Weather Service’s (NWS) Student Career Experience Program (SCEP) : January 19 – February 28 2011

The SCEP Program provides students with valuable work experience under guidance and direction of a university. The Student Trainee positions with the National Weather Service is in disciplines of meteorology and hydrology. Students complete at least 640 hours of career-related work. They are paid for their services (salary commensurate with applicant’s education) and receive a number of employee benefits, annual and sick leave, to cite two. Please note that the position does not include a housing stipend or relocation costs. Upon completion of the program and graduation, the student may be offered a full-time position at the NWS on a non-competitive basis.
