Cartographica Editorial Assistant Position Available in GGS

The Editor of the peer-reviewed, international journal, Cartographica, Dr Waters in GGS is looking for a student editorial assistant.

The primary duties are: 1) to liaise with the publisher (the University of Toronto Press); 2) to contact potential authors in order to solicit manuscripts; 3) to select reviewers to referee manuscripts; 4) to work with authors to improve manuscripts so as to achieve the highest standards of excellence in our published papers.

The funding is for 8 hours per week at $12/hour. Employment would begin as soon as a suitable candidate is found. Ideally this individual would be a graduate student in the GGS Department but GGS undergraduates in their senior year will also be considered. GRA position at GMU

for Ph.D or MS Student. The student will work 20 hours per week to develop and maintain the Web page for the World AgroMeterological Information Service (WAMIS) of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).

Requirements:
1. Proficient with web development and remote sensing data processing;
2. With experience and skills in web design, graphic design , web content management, and
site management;
3. 2+ years experience with HTML, CSS and XML;
4. 2+ years experience with Apache, MySQL and PHP;
5. Familiar with Linux;
6. Excellent written and oral communication skills;
7. Be able to work independently and with a multi-disciplinary team.
