This position is located with the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), National Geospatial Technical Operations Center (NGTOC), in Rolla, Missouri.

The incumbent serves as the raster technical lead in the design and integration of data, data models, and systems. Based on business requirements and system capabilities, develop strategies to enhance and implement new system designs.

He/she leads and coordinates the management of projects designed to develop new geographic applications systems and methods. Directs project activities in support of The National Map. Guides the work of other team members, and coordinates resource allocations and systems development efforts.

Serves as Primary Authoritative Contact for technical issues related to raster geospatial data activities. Serves as the authoritative resource on creating technology solutions for requirements related to transactional data exchange, change management, data validation, inventory management, route navigation, and providing access to and dissemination of multi-resolution raster data.

Plans and conducts cartographic and geographic studies and analyses in such areas as geospatial science applications, technical planning/standards, quality control, and including input to contract services. Writes comprehensive reports that include authoritative findings and recommendations, and serve as bureau precedents.

Justifies, interprets, and negotiates cooperative programs with partner organizations to undertake efforts such as the development of integrated projects, enhancement of current applications, or the research of applications concepts.
