GIS Developer

The selected candidate will become part of our Enterprise Spatial Solutions (ESS) team providing GIS application development support. The GIS developer will work with multiple project teams and be responsible for the development and delivery of high-quality GIS solutions, including hands-on application development.

Additionally, the GIS developer will be responsible for delivering projects and tasks on time and within budget. Working with various business groups, project teams, and clients, the GIS developer will also assist in developing proposals, statements of work, budgets, requirements, and schedules for GIS projects and tasks.

As a member of the ESS team, the GIS developer will work with our technology group to help monitor, evaluate, upgrade, and troubleshoot our delivery technologies, including hardware and software.

This is a regular, full-time, salaried position with full benefits.

The ideal candidate will be an effective communicator and be team oriented. Should have bachelor's degree in Geography, Computer Science, or Information Systems, as well as 3+ years of professional experience. The candidate must demonstrate experience that reflects progressively more challenging assignments. A strong technical background is required as the candidate must demonstrate expert knowledge of GIS technologies and theory. Expert understanding of ESRI-based GIS technologies (ArcGIS 9.x, ArcObjects, and ArcGIS Server technology stack), one or more database technologies (Oracle, and/or MS SQL Server), and one or more application-development technologies (MS .NET, J2EE) is required. Knowledge of other GIS vendors/technologies (Oracle Spatial, Autodesk, Google) will be considered a plus. Must have GIS application-development skills

There is no such thing called specific questions asked in all the GIS job interviews, it all depend upon the resume and projects which the person worked upon.
