Systems Engineers Needed.

The Geo-Spatial Technologies and Information Division of SAIC located in Springfield, VA, currently has openings for Systems Engineers. Candidate will provide processing support to the Army Buckeye program in Iraq and Afghanistan theaters of operation. Candidate will work on small cohesive teams, in these theaters as well as on larger teams in the Springfield Office. Selected candidates will be required to perform rotations to one or both theaters at a minimum of 4 months per rotation. Candidate will receive a hazard duty pay differential. Candidate will be trained to have a working understanding of the collection and processing of tactical imagery and LIDAR data. Candidate is preferred to have a background in working with military customers and production of products related to the Military Decision Making Process. Should be a self starter that works well with small teams as well as individually. Candidate must be capable of obtaining a Secret security clearance before deploying, be able to obtain a Top Secret security clearance if necessary, and pass a deployment physical.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS: Completion of a government or equivalent academic program resulting in the attainment of journeyman level GIS skills. The successful candidate will have a minimum of three to five years relevant skill experience including the following: knowledge and experience with digital cartography, image processing, and computer technology; knowledge of geographical information systems, geospatial production techniques, and NGA digital data formats; knowledge of and experience with GIS commercial-off-the-shelf applications software, particularly ESRI ArcGIS, ArcView, ERDAS Imagine/LPS, SOCET SET, MicroStation and TerraScan.
