Hyperspectral Remote Sensing Engineer/Scientist & Internships @ MTEQ, VA

MTEQ’s Technical Services Division is seeking self motivated engineers or scientists who are interested in hands on work to support laboratory and field testing of spectral sensor systems. Individuals with backgrounds in reflective VNIR/SWIR and/or emissive LWIR hyperspectral remote sensing technology are highly desired.

Ideal candidates will have experience in a combination of one or more of the following technical areas:

Data Collection and Planning:

• experiment planning and set up
• sensor operation
• data quality assessment
• target/background characterization and ground-truthing

Sensors/Sensor-Systems:

• design
• integration
• test
• characterization
• lab and/or field environment

Hyperspectral/Multivariate Data Processing, Analysis and Exploitation

• science/phenomenology
• atmospherics
• relevant mathematical methods/algorithms used in the processing and exploitation of HSI data
• working knowledge of image/data processing software and languages, such as ENVI/IDL, Matlab, C/C++

Other Requirements:

• Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Engineering, Imaging Science, Physics or related field
• Ability for critical thinking and problem solving 
• Good interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD clearance

Job Location:
Openings will be located either on our customer site in Ft. Belvoir, VA or in our Stafford, VA office.

INTERNSHIPS:
MTEQ offers several internship opportunities for college students. These opportunities may be available in our Ft. Belvoir or Stafford, VA locations. Our internships are technical in nature and are best suited to students in their junior or senior years, or in graduate-level or doctorate programs.
