Student positions at USGS

USGS Eastern Geographic Science Center has immediate student internships available. There are two different needs as follows.

  1. Some knowledge of land use/cover mapping and ERDAS IMAGINE.
  2. A programmer to assist with developing new functionalities in applications designed for flood hazard mitigation, land conservation prioritization in the Chesapeake Bay watershed, and water resource management in South Florida.
Experience with a Javascript user interface library is required (e.g, YUI, ExtJS, jQuery). Familiarity with server-side processing would be helpful (Python is preferred), as well as familiarity with a Javascript mapping library (e.g. OpenLayers, Google Maps).

These positions do require student status and very likely US citizenship. If interested, please send an e-mail expression of interest and a resume/CV to Greg Desmond, Associate Chief, EGSC.
