USGS -Intership position

Internship position at USGS - Reston

Responsibility:
The programmer-intern will assist the team with developing new functionalities in applications designed for flood hazard mitigation, land conservation prioritization in the Chesapeake Bay watershed, and water resource management in South Florida.

Work Experience or Specific Qualifications Required
  • Experience with a Java script user interface library is required (e.g, YUI, ExtJS, jQuery).
  • Familiarity with server-side processing would be helpful (Python is preferred)
  • Familiarity with a Java script mapping library (e.g. OpenLayers, Google Maps).
Terms
Student will work at the USGS National Center in Reston, VA. Student will be paid by requisition contract at an hourly rate as listed in the OPM pricing table for student services. Full or Part-time during summers and school breaks; part-time during school year as negotiated. Start: preferably January/February 2012 or as negotiated.
